Three Language Formula is a wastage of National Resources

Much debate is going on the need for 3 language formula.  Which three languages? Every one has a  different answer.

I would question why three languages?
Why at school level?
Why for everyone?

I believe that for majority of students there is need to  teach only one language. And that should be the mother tongue. The medium of instructions should be the mother tongue. And this should be till class 10th.

If a young person in Aurangabad realizes that she/ he would become a carpenter and live for most of his life in Aurangabad. Why should this person know any language other than Marathi?

In above para, replace Aurangabad and Marathi with any of the following pairs:

Coimbatore     Tamil
Kanpur             Hindi
Jullundhar       Punjabi
Rajkot              Gujrati
Alleppy             Malyalam
Vijaywada       Telugu
Cuttack            Oriya
Golaghat          Assamese
Durgapur          Bengali

Or any other such pair.

Those who show potential to pursue higher education and aspire to economic mobility, should learn second language during 11th and 12th classes.

This could be English,  Hindi or any other language of the student's choice.
